I am curious as to what the troubles were. We have never seen any
problems with Gammaray single CPU configurations.

2563.4 | MC660 | KAOFS::M_NAKAGAWA | | Tue Apr 22 1997 01:33 | 13 |
| re: .-1
Our case, system halted with "HALT CODE 06" during boot.
(it was not HALT CODE 05 but 06 according to customer)
I asked customer to test CPU at console level by ">>> TEST CPU0" ,
it failed solidly with MC660.
It looked like a hardware problem with the new CPU but register dump
did not have any error bit anywhere(ie.. CPU, I/O, MEMORY).
After getting failure we did ">>> SHOW STATUS", ">>> SHOW FRU" but
none of them showed error counts either.

2563.5 | OpenVMS Not Supported on GammaRay (5/375) | XDELTA::HOFFMAN | Steve, OpenVMS Engineering | Thu May 01 1997 14:56 | 13 |
|
OpenVMS is not supported on the GammaRay (5/375) Processor module
on any member of the Sable series of platforms: 2000, 2100, 2100A.
This is a result of a technical restriction outside the control of
the OpenVMS engineering team.
The OpenVMS V7.1 and V6.2-1H3 SPDs are in error in this area, and
this error is presently being corrected.
For further information, please contact Bill Hanley, the OpenVMS
product manager that is handling this question, directly.
