2532.1 | ZLXp-E1 works just fine.. | ADOV01::MANUEL | Over the Horizon.... | Sat Mar 01 1997 04:24 | 10 |
| I decided to go to the customer site and try a ZLXp-E1 module in the
system, it works fine in 1024x1280 mode on OpenVMS, the customer
displays behaved properly.
While looking for a consloe command I came across a section in the
2100A user guide which specifically referenced set up for this module.
I asked the customer if he had RTFM...

| I'm confused over this ZLXp-E1 (PBXGA-xx) supported/not-supported issue...
I cannot find any documentation that states that the PBXGA-AA card *is*
supported on the AlphaServer 2100. The following is from the supported options
list located at -
ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/Alpha/systems/as2100/docs/supported_options.txt

The following is quoted from the 2100A version of the above document, i.e. -
ftp://ftp.digital.com/pub/DEC/Alpha/systems/as2100a/docs/supported_options.txt
> Options Not Supported on AlphaServer 2100A

> The following options are not supported on the AlphaServer 2100A.

> DE422-SA DEC EtherWORKS EISA TP/BNC
> DE425-AA EISA, 32-bit, B. M., PC NIC
> DJ-ML200 PCI NVRAM module.
> PB2HA-SA EISA to Fast SCSI Host Adapter
> PB2SX-AA EISA Prestoserve NVRAM Option
> PBXGA-xx ZLXp-E1 8-Plane or 24-Plane Adapter
This clearly states that the PBXGA-xx cards are *not* supported on the 2100A.
I tried mailing John Nee who I believe to be the Sable product manager, but
never got a reply.
Help! I'm confused!!!

2532.3 | problem was with multi-proc systems | WONDER::CARLSON | Dave | Tue Mar 04 1997 15:24 | 7 |
| there was problems with the Open 3D software running in an SMP
environment on the 2100 family.
The SMP issues are being addressed but due to end of life issues
with the 2x00 family you may not see a formal support statement made.
