I have a customer who put a VT510 on his A2100 as the console. The console parameter is set to serial, but since the VT510's keyboard is connected to the VT and not to the keyboard port on the system, the comment "Keyboard error" appears during power up test. This doesn't seem like a problem to me, but the user wants a "clean" set of pup results. So far, I haven't been able to discover how to do this, other than by leaving a spare keyboard plugged into the port. This seems like a nitnoid problem, but if there is a way to prevent the kbd test from failing, I'd like to know what it is. Otherwise, I'll continue to respond that that's the way it is. Many thanks for any replies. Fred

In the back of Circuit Cellar Ink, you'll find an Ad. for XVetra Systems Corporation. They make a Phantom Keyboard Eliminator that you plug into the keyboard port and the PC (possibly Alpha), believes that it has a keyboard connected. 275-J Marcus Blvd. Hauppauge, NY 11787 516-434-3185 rtt |
