We are over two years away from when .1 was posted regarding the
invalidation of SQL Server's data integrity guarantee if one uses
the write-back cache policy of the backplane RAID controller. Is
there any update to this? Is this still the case, or has something
been done to allow SQL Server and write-back cache to co-exist
without any problems?
I have been recommending to customers (based on the statement in
.1) not to utilize write-back cache on SQL Server volumes. I would
like to know if I can tell customers that this restriction has been
lifted.
