1226.0. "Subsequent action on abort" by ROM01::FRISINA () Mon Mar 10 1997 08:25
My customer uses POLYCENTER Scheduler V2.1 to execute his backups on a
TL820 (through SLS V2.7).
When he issues the command SCHEDULER ABORT 'job', obviously the process
dies, and so does SLS backup - but the tape is not physically unloaded
from the drive which was using it. If not manually handled - using the
option provided with SLS Operator Menu - next backup trying to allocate
that drive will abort with an access violation.
It seems to me there is no possibility of handling the unload of the
tape through a post function (if status is failed Scheduler won't
execute it)... Is there any trick to make SLS handle the operation with
some logicals or symbols, so that when I abort a job it will take note
of the failure and subsequently dismount the tape?
Thanks for help,
Iolanda
