1176.0. "what is the agent doing??" by MUNICH::REIN (How come holes in swiss chesse??) Wed Oct 30 1996 07:27
Hallo there,
I ave installed a vms agent on my workstation now and want to have run
a job from the server, but the only thing I get is the status of
211190244.
Scheduler Job #67 (Name: LOGO2) Completed on Remote Node PASING
MUNAXP::REIN>Remote job status: 211190244
Is it right, that the agent is only a small portion of the scheduler,
which makes it possible to run a job on a remote system.
Are there any special commands available for the agent?
Or can I do the same things when I would install the full scheduler
on my station?
It makes me confusing, that I can't find special userguide for
scheduler agents.
regards
Volker

That error is "error running job".
What results do you get when you issue the following from the server
node:
$ SCHED SHOW STATUS/REMOTE=agent_node
The agent software can run a command or command file you specify in a job
created on the server node. There isn't a scheduler command interface
on a agent. You can only check that the two scheduler can talk to
each other using the above sched show status command.
Check to see that the logical "NSCHED$REMOTE_SUPPORT_ENABLED is defined
to "TRUE". If not define it /SYSTEM/EXEC and restart scheduler.
