1169.1 | make sure custom load balancing is not turned on | RUMOR::FALEK | ex-TU58 King | Wed Oct 16 1996 12:51 | 10 |
| They don't have "custom load balancing" turned on by any chance?
That is activated by doing something like
$ define/sys/exec nsched$custom_load_balance TRUE
(see comments in scheduler$startup.com for details)
In that case the default node spawns a customer supplied procedure to
determine the specific node to run each job on. If there is an error
running the customer supplied procedure, the job runs on the "default"
node. (just something to check...)

1169.2 | VSCHED_E09B021 or VSCHED_E0903B021? | HGOVC::KENNETH | | Mon Oct 28 1996 23:25 | 13 |
| Hi,
The customer has already truned on load balancing. But anyway, the
server version is too old, V2.1b-2. So I would like to send the latest
patch to the customer. I found VSCHED_E0903B021 and VSCHED_E09B021.
Which one should I send to the customer?
I found VSCHED_E09B021 has savesets A,B,C.. and VSCHED_E0903B021 only
one saveset A.
Thanks again for your help.

1169.4 | NOT VSCHED_E0903B021 | CSC32::WATERS | The Agony of Delete | Mon Nov 04 1996 17:32 | 6 |
| VSCHED_E09B021 is the latest ECO available.
Engineering requested VSCHED_E0903B021 not be sent to customers
unless it is a fix to specific problem addressed in VSCHED_E0903B021.

Is there any problem for VSCHED_E0903B021?
Thanks,

1169.7 | Scheduler V2.2 is shipping ... by MCS | HLFS00::ERIC_S | Eric Sonneveld MCS - B.O. IS Holland | Thu Jan 30 1997 02:31 | 11 |
| MCS told me they got V2.2 for Alpha as well as VAX. Don't know the status for
internal/external distribution. let you know.
The most importent difference is Alpha kit supports the callable interface and
the Alpha kit supports OpenVMS V6.2 and V7.0 official (meaning scheduler V2.1 on
Alpha is not supported ??)
Btw I was hired recently by Ca to do an implementation of Scheduler on
ALpha since CA7 does not run on alpha yet. They still shipped V2.1B-7
to the customer....
