1132.0. "2.2 release date ???" by KERNEL::HORSNELL () Wed Jul 17 1996 12:11

    Hi,

    Any ideas when V2.2 will be released. I have a problem with a scale
    factor 127 error causing scheduler to crash. I've got a temporary
    workaround by switching off load balancing.

    Regards

    Daryl

    They don't have notes access. I was at the Horseshoe pub in Hudson
    for a gathering of Scheduler Alumni. Many of the engineering team from
    Digital that are now at CA were there. Ron and Rae Collier will be
    moving to Atlanta - he will be a head of technical support down there.
    Bob Pushys will be wearing a suit and driving a car with a cell-phone
    doing "tecnical marketing" to customers in New England, helping them
    to apply CA-Polycenter products.

    It appears that the engineering team has been disbanded and moved into
    marketing and support, though they are still comitted to producing
    bug-fixed versions. I asked about V2.2 - apparently the kit has been
    ready for months, except for the "?Scale Factor Interlock" bug in load
    balancing on some Alphas, which seems to be due to a bad translated
    image.
1132.4IPMT time again ?KERNEL::HORSNELLMon Jul 22 1996 06:0012

    My customers going to jump for joy, I logged an IPMT case on this
    back in April, log number 40487, engineering closed this and advised
    that this bug was fixed in V2.2.

    So if you say it isn't should I log another IPMT case ?

    Cheers

    Daryl.

    I thought the next release was 2.1b-9 which is ready but has not
    been customer released.

    It certainly won't hurt to try to "work the channels" at CA to try to
    get the new kit released, if you can find out how to do that.
