1099.0. "TCP/IP vs RPC" by USCTR1::nqsrv238.nqo.dec.com::coxb (Don't drink downstream from the herd) Thu May 16 1996 14:32
Customer is CURRENTLY running Scheduler 2.1B on 5 VAX servers communicating with each other via
DECnet. The customer is PLANNING a pilot test of Scheduler 3.0. I am confused on RPC vs. TCP/IP.
If the customer uses Scheduler 3.0 on UNIX what is the communications architecture & product name of
each product needed for communicating to:
A) Each VAX running OpenVMS agents on each of the 5 VAX's? (will simultanious running the current
VMS server and running pilot test agents on the VAX's at the same time work?)
B) Another Digital UNIX AXP system
C) WINNT System
