Yes, The easiest way is to use backup/physical from the same size
rewritable media.
WORM media is supported on OpenVMS/Alpha but currently no file systems
are supported that allow incremental (file by file) population. Think
of the backup/physical as a manual process of dumping a large cache to
the WORM disk.
The disadvantage is the manual nature of the disk population but the
advantages (as compared to WORMS-11) are:
o Files-11 features, such as ACL's, that WORMS-11 doesn't have
o ability to mount/cluster
o faster mount times and less system resources used
o the ability to cleanup and maximize the data set before it is saved
to WORM media.
This same "feature" exists for the VAX products as well.
