The document I'm looking at, EK-SOL20-SV.A01, has a paragraph on page
3-11 titled "Setting a New Security Code".
Since you've indicated you have one, check page 3-11, and then if
needed, I'll briefly paraphrase it for you.

806.2 | Lost code..? | KAOFS::E_BELANGER | Canadian Remote Diagnostic Center | Wed Mar 12 1997 10:43 | 9 |
| Hi,
Thanks for the reply. It's nice if it's set to default 0-0-0 or
or if you know the last code.
What appen if the customer lost the code?

806.3 | try these... | CSC32::S_WASKEWICZ | | Wed Mar 12 1997 11:36 | 16 |

As I see it, you have several options. Professionally? I'd go
with option 1.
1. Replace the AC control module...
due to the fact that you have to have the security code 1st to run most
CONFIG's, including CONFIG 17 "Set New Security Code"...catch 22
2. If customer is of opposite sex, offer to wine and dine, with hope
of intimate conversation...reveal original code yet?
3. Convince engineering to repair this problem in firmware...yeah,right
while your'e at it, convince Congress to lower taxes immediately.

806.4 | Earlier model's procedure, but maybe worth a try | KERNEL::CLARK | STRUGGLING AGAINST GRAVITY... | Thu Mar 13 1997 04:55 | 42 |
| All...
This is not nearly so interesting as '.3 (2)' but when all else has
failed, try this:-
I'm looking at document EK-SOL20-SV.B01 page 4-3, topic:-
4.1 OPERATION/INSTALLATIONERROR INFORMATION
Task Problem/Symptom What to do
.
.
.
.
Inputting Security Security Code First try the default security
Code forgotten or code (0-0-0). If the security
misplaced code is not set to the
default, locate the
8-switch dip switch on the
controller PCA and set SW1
to the "closed" position.
Switch on the autochanger.
This sets the security code
to the default code.
NOTE- Once the default
security code is set, the
switch must be reset to its
original setting. The
customer may now use
config 17 to reset the
code.
The document in question is admittedly for RW504/RW524, but has the
etch and functionality of the A/C controller module changed much? Has
the RW525 A/C controller PCA got a dip switch?
If this fails then fall back to "change the A/C controller module"
as suggested by Steve in '.3'

806.5 | | LEFTY::CWILLIAMS | CD or not CD, that's the question | Thu Mar 13 1997 09:21 | 7 |
| The controller for the RW525 is completely different - It's about the
size of a 4x5 card. The RW524 controller is more like 9x11".
There may be a similar switch, though. I don't have the docs... Sorry.

806.6 | try CONFIG 16 first... | CSC32::S_WASKEWICZ | | Thu Mar 13 1997 10:02 | 10 |

Another chapter to this:
The CONFIG 16 states as the last item in the list:
"Reset the password to 0 0 0"
I'd certainly try running CONFIG 16 first before replacing the module.
