791.0. "rwz53 drive support on WNT 4.0" by XFMV01::AJITK () Mon Feb 24 1997 01:52

Hi

I just went thru the Sales Update for RWZ53 (2.3/2.6 GB optical
drive) and the optical libraries using this drive. It mentions
Windows-NT 4.0 as one of the supporting OS.

Can NTBACKUP use the RWZ53 drive ?

Also what is the plan for supporting the optical libraries on
windows-NT ?

Thanks in advance.

    NT Backup cannot use a disk as the backup destination. You might check
    with some of the NT backup SW vendors to see if they can do this.
    Native NT backup will not. (Seagate, Cheyenne, palindrome, etc...)

    Dir/tit=prod to find the product manager for futures questions, please.

What does the WNT 4.0 support in the sales update of RWZ53 mean
then ?

How can I use the drive on WNT ? Can any NT supported file system
created on this and files copied to it ?

	The RWZ53 acts like a BIG floppy (1.15GB/side)...

    You use it as a disk. That's what it is, and it works fine that way.
