| As far as I can see.....(cya)
Ther KZPDA is *not* listed among the supported controllers for an
alphaserver 4100 in OSDS 3.4 SPD.
I have a call from a customer who is currently beating up his
supplier for shipping KZPDA'S instead of KZPAA's.
He has two identical(?) systems, one crashes on IVP for OSDS the
other works just fine. Both are running O-vms 6.2-1h3 and OSDS 3.4.
Is the KZPDA likely to be a "marginal" component in this context??
Or should I advise the customer to accept the KZPDA's?

| Dave,
Are both machines configured the same? Is it possible that on the
running machine the KZPDA is used but on another machine another
adapter or SCSI chip imbedded on a mother board is used.
Also, please check and see which PK device and associated PKxDRIVER
is being used. My information says that SYS$PKQDRIVER is used to
controll the KZPDA and that port driver has never been qualified with
OSxS (that I have record of).

| Rob..
The customer is telling me that both machines are identical, but
that he didn't configure them. He asked his supplier (VAR) to configure
the systems identically!!!(?)
With reference to ...

I guess that means that '.2' is not correct at least in the O-VMS
context, and that the customer should continue to press his VAR for the
controllers (KZPAA) which he ordered in the first place.

| re: .6
To clarify, "means that '.2' is not correct at least in the O-VMS
context". Note 735.0,1,2 refered to Digital Unix. Later notes
changed the context to OpenVMS to which I replied in .5.
