I'm really happy with a CD I bought recently called "Cure For Pain" by the group Morphine. I think it's their second of three albums. This band is a trio from Boston - bass player/singer, drummer, and saxophone player. The singer's voice is very deep and warm. It sounds as one with the thick, earthy sounds of the baritone saxophone and bass. The lyrics are moody and edgy, as is the music. Could someone shed more light (and opinions) on this band Morphine? Thanks.

As if their instrumentation isn't odd enough... the bass player only uses two strings. They certainly are different. I like them. M

At least one of the members of Morphine were in the band Treat Her Right including Mark Sandman(lead singer). If you like Morphine check out "Treat Her Right" They sound similar.

If you want to know more about the band, I think there is an article in the new June 29th edition of Rolling Stone Mag. Mo |
