700.0. "WWII Songs" by LARVAE::BRIGGS_R () Fri Feb 03 1995 05:20
Ok, this is a loooooong shot but you never know your luck. I play in a
60's style group (they were 'groups' not 'bands' in those days!) and
we've been asked to play at a VE Day (Victory in Europe) celebration
street party. Well we reckon maybe two or three numbers from the period
would be in order.
On UK TV there have been two classic comedy series from WWII and its
the themes from these I want. Ideally, lyrics and chords. These are:
Dad's Army - Starts, "Who do you think you're kidding Mr. Hitler.....".
I think this is a genuine 'period piece' by Bud Flanagan.
It Ain't Half Hot, Mum - End's with "B. O. Y. S., Boys to entertain you." I
think this was written especially for the show.
If anyone can help I'd really appreciate it.
Regards

I think Spike Jones' "Der Fuehrer" would probably go over well,
and it wouldn't be too difficult to make it sound good.
