671.0. "Bonnie Raitt" by TAPE::LKL (Void where prohibited) Wed Sep 14 1994 08:43

I'm looking for a discography of Bonnie Raitt releases.
If possible could the singles that went to the charts be
    identified for each release.

...and the newest one. <blank>

I like Luck Of The Draw, myself.

There are a few gaps in here...

"Takin' My Time" came out between "Give It Up" and "Streetlights".

Also missing: "Green Light", "Sweet Forgiveness", and the best-of
  compilation ("The Collection"?).

There's a fuller discography (in which Brian Rost, I believe, also
included a few of her cameo appearances with other/various artists)
  in FOLK_MUSIC, I think.

As for "singles that charted", well, she never had any of those until he
commercial breakthough w/ the "Nick of Time" album. However, the
"Collection" is a good sampler of favorites (selected and annotated by
Raitt herself) that, arguably, should have charted. - Jay

I'm sure I heard her version of Runaway on the radio long before Luck
of the Draw...but maybe I just had a cool station and it never really
    charted...

I believe she had a couple of tunes on the No Nukes collection.

671.5Maybe a nit, but...POWDML::MILLERThu Sep 15 1994 13:463
If I'm not mistaken (and I very well maybe) "Runaway" was in the Top
    40. It was "Nick of Time" that brought her to the attention of the
general public -- and the top of the charts.

"Runaway" was years before Nick Of Time. I think it's from Home Plate,
but I don't have that one so I'm not certain.

As near as I can recall, here are her album titles:

	Bonnie Raitt (debut album)
	Give It Up
	Takin' My Time
	Street Lights
	Home Plate
	Sweet Forgiveness
	Green Light
	The Glow (pretty forgetable)
	Collection ("best of" album)
	The Nick Of Time
	Luck Of The Draw

I may be missing a title here between Sweet Forgiveness and Green Light.

All of these records except the last two were made for Warner.
Someone listed them as on Reprise and though Reprise is is part of Warner,
the vinyl I had carried the Waner Bros label. She's now on Capitol (eat
your heart out Warner Bros).

I also remember hearing a killer version of the Disney song from Dumbo
called "Baby Mine". It was on the an album called "Stay Up Late", I think
which was a compliation record of popular artists doing Disney songs. One
of the other great tunes from that record was Sinead O'Conner singing a very
breathy version of "Someday My Price Will Come". Imagine!

Her latest album is "Longing in Their Hearts". It's been out a few
months and is available through BMG as well as record stores.
