| They've been big over here in Europe for a number of years. I think
they are French and I thought I heard a rumour that they're not
actually gypsies but I could be wrong on that.
I've got a video recording of them in concert in the Albert Hall here in
London and its the only concert I've seen people dancing in the aisles
after the first number. Very infectious. I've not bought any albums as
I find the music a bit monotonous if you're just listening.
They have an superb guitarist amongst them who seems to do all the
'lead' work. I think he plays in the middle of Queen's 'Innuendo'.

| > They seem to be an accoustic guitar based Latino type band.
Nope, I believe they really are gypsies. Thus I'd said the music is more
european/spanish/flamenco then Latin. And I could be wrong about this,
but I think they spell it with an "i" as in "Gipsey Kings" for
some reason.
I have their first American release and I love it. Their first hit
was called "Bamboleo" and I really think that tune is HOT! 5 Stars.
There's also a lot of stuff on that first record that I really get
into.
If you're open to acoustic music, different rhythms besides 4/4, and
non-english lyrics, I think that's one of the best albums to cross
over to the states in many years.

| The Hellecasters do one of their tunes although in a slightly different
style.

I believe it's with the "i" but not "e", i.e. "Gipsy Kings".

Cool. I'll pick up the first one with "Bambeleo." Since I order from
Noteworthy, do you know what the name of the CD is (no track listings
in the catalog).

Don't be, there is most definitely a lineage there.
I think if you've heard anything they've done and liked it, there's
a real good chance you'll like "Bamboleo".
You don't often hear this recommended for euro/spanish/flamenco stuff
but when you listen it to it, CRANK it up!

I believe their first 'major' album was called MOSAIC. Whether that's
got the track in question on is another matter.
