643.1 | do you remember any details??? | STKAI1::SWE098::MSTROM | | Tue May 31 1994 10:58 | 6 |
| The film title rings a bell... Do you know who played in it and/or remember
the storyline?? I have a slight hunch that FilmNet showed a movie with theg
title you mantion a few years ago. Should give some hope that it is available
on video...

funny that you should bring this topic back to life at this moment. I
believe the Fillmore West re-opened recently. Maybe if we have anyone
noters left in SF they could confirm/deny this rumor?

643.3 | Fillmore West is open again | KOLFAX::WIEGLEB | Long live King Ludd! | Tue May 31 1994 14:04 | 6 |
| Yes. The Fillmore in SF has been booking shows now for about a month
or so. They've had a variety of interesting bookings - none of which
were sufficiently interesting to me to get me into a large venue
though.

| Magnus ...
... it is basically a compilation of footing from the last few weeks
both the EAST and WEST were still operating. It has live performances
of such greates as (reading from the album cover):
SANTANA
GREATFUL DEAD
HOT TUNA
MALO
NEW RIDERS OF THE PURPLE SAGE
QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE
IT'S A BEAUTIFUL DAY
TAJ MAHAL
BOZ SCAGGS
TOWER OF POWER
COLD BLOOD
ELVIN BISHOP GROUP
STONEGROUND
SONS OF CHAMPLIN
LAMB
There are interviews with band members and Bill Graham
mixed with the above mentioned bands and musicians.
Should anybody know about the movie/video (ie numbers or possibilities
to copy) I'll be greatful !
Regards
Werner

Please! Let's not commit blasphemy, OK? It's the *Grateful* Dead.

| Not to be blasphemous , but The Grateful Dead are probably the
weakest point on this CD. ;-)
Santana did a grate set, as did Hot tuna and Taj Mahal. Malo, who
I don't remember ever hearing about, did a grate tune called
"Prana". But the Dead set was lame, IMO. I'd love to see the
video of this.

| The Last Days of The Fillmore I believe is the title..I have it on
vinyl, with nice booklet, and a listing of all the shows that ever took
place at both East & West....and the box has a 45" (remember those?)
of an interview with Bill Graham....I wonder how muh this is worth
these days, complete with booklet and 45....
grate 2 page picture of the Dead in the middle...

643.10 | Malo - Carlos' brother | ODIXIE::BRANCOLINI | | Fri Jun 03 1994 23:46 | 2 |
| Malo was a band that included Carlos Santana's brother Jorge. I think.
Anybody confirm this?
|
643.11 | MALO is Jorge Santana's band | GIDDAY::HAHLING | Werner Hahling - Townsville/Australia | Sun Jun 05 1994 19:42 | 9 |
| That's correct ... MALO was Jorge Santana's band, it had one hit in
the US called "cafe".
Jorge (Carlos' brother) played with SANTANA on their recent world tour.
