    Well it's that time of year again...has the master list come out for
    Great Woods yet? I know I've heard single shows, JT, Bonnie Raitt,Phil
    Collins, but nothing as far as the "complete" listing...
    
    Anyone know when it's due to hit the papers?

    I am also interested in the Great Woods Line-up.  I have heard that the
    Allman Brothers are coming on August 14th & 15th and I would really
    like to see them this time around.  (Greg Allman was on BCN the other
    night).  When the schedule comes out does it also tell when you are
    able to buy tickets?

for Great Woods ? Specifically, I am looking for

	right and i wouldn't have bothered, 'cept they were asking about

    I thought I heard that Great Woods was redesigned...this year they
    added bleachers and an additional way to get to Rte 495...anyone else
    hear this?

Yes, the bleachers hold 5000+ people so the seating capacity is 19,000.  They
have widened 140 to 6 lanes from GW to 495.

I just wish they'd have something good to see this year.  There's too many
"boomer" ($$$) acts to suit me.

    The addition of bleachers in the lawn has confused me a little.....does
    this mean that there is no "lawn" (open space) anymore, just bleachers
    to sit on, or is it half and half?

No, the bleachers were added to add 5000 extra seats to the 14,000 they had.  I
think that they are in the back, but haven't been to GW since they added them.

I'll be going to Great Woods for the first time to see Aerosmith.

We have lawn seats ....  exactly what does that mean ?? is the lawn
area sectioned off or is it a first come situation ??

Can you bring chairs, blankets, umbrellas ?? how about coolers and grills ? ;^)

Will we actually be able to see the band or just monitors ?

any other do or don't suggestions .......

    First come, first served - try and get there a solid hour - 45 minutes
    before the show to get a decent section of lawn.  Though when I was
    there in September most of the 'lawn' was worn away to dirt.

    Chairs, coolers and grills are not allowed.  Bring a large blanket and
    pread it out to "claim your space" before the show (your space will get
    smaller during the show) They charge and arma nd a leg for food and
    beverages and once you are past the gates you can not re-enter so make
    sure you grab all you need - they also do random searches for
    'whatever' at the gate.  I'm not sure about umdrellas. 
    
Will we actually be able to see the band or just monitors ?

    Both!  Bring binoculars (they rent them there for $6.00) if your really
    into seeing other band members more than 10 percent of the time up
    close.  I liked where we sat - I liked to choose watching the monitors
    or watching the whole show from the lawn.
    
    The bathroom facilities were more than adequate (hey thats important to
    the women :^}) The food was gross and way way over priced.

    YES  scheduled for June 2 has been rescheduled to August 29

    I noticed that when the tour was cancelled, YES airplay shriveled up to
    nothing. The moment a new tour schedule was set up, they're back in
    rotation. It makes one wonder just how much influence these companies
    have over the playlists at radio stations.

    This sort of thing must give the marketing people at the record
    companies bleeding ulcers.

    "Uhhh, Hi, this is Bob from WEA. We were wondering, could please like
    not play any tracks from the new Froghead release for like maybe the
    next 6 weeks? Thanks."

    Timing is ever...ything.

    Someone told me that Stevie Nicks is coming to Greatwoods this summer
    can anyone confirm this.

    I went to see Phil Collin's Friday nite and had lawn seats....the story
    behind the bleachers is this, yes they put bleachers at the back of the
    lawn, about 10 rows.....kinda nice....! 
    they also now have beer&food stands on the lawn area (at the back in 
    each corner) they had out-houses too but the lines were way to long.
    
    

    ... and the _most_ amazing thing last night was that I got out of there
    in about 10 minutes instead of an hour.  And I was parked way in the
    back and I didn't leave early... stayed for all 3 encores.  They must 
    have had someone with a brain analyze their traffic control and fix the 
    problems.  A very welcome change.

    ...we got out fast but then we waited for a bit after the show to
    leave. we parked in the early arrival area....poles 6 and 7.

Can anyone suggest a resonable, clean hotel near Great Woods ??

We're planning to stay over after the Aerosmith concert.

Want a place with an outdoor pool and other amenities....

    like the lawn its 1st come 1st serve....if the lawn is really packed
    (like at the Phil Collins shows) you will not want to sit there, a walk
    way is in front of these bleachers....you might be able to guess why
    :')

Just in case anyone plans to stay at a hotel in the Great Woods area
the night of a major concert, make reservations a year in advance !!

I've gone through 3 phone books for the Foxboro - Milford area and
everything is booked !

I could probably try farther out to Marlboro or Fall River but I
might as well drive another hour home and save $80 .....

    when did you do this ? if over the last few weeks, then the World Cup
    might have been the problem....they did have about 4 games at Foxboro.
