Saw him briefly on the John Stewart MTV thing the other night. He does
look a little different, but he's still seems pretty obnoxious. Ah,
what the hell. I guess it comes with being used to having the world by
the tail.
Is Billy Sheehan still with his band ?

I doubt it, Billy's been playing with Mr. Big for about two years now.

Shows what a dynamic force DLR has been in my musical life.
Thanks, Dave.

Dave has had some excellent musicians playing with him ... Steve
Vai and Billy Sheehan for a couple albums, and they wailed.

For old-times-sake I'm checking him out at Avalon this week... any idea
who's in his touring band these days?
Later...

I've always loved David Lee Roth. He's the consumate showman. I was
fortunate enough to see the tour with Vai and Sheehan and I my
jaw hit the floor at the beginning of the show and never returned
until I got home that night. Simply incredible.

I don't know if Sheehan was with him when I saw him [Faster
Pussycat opened, at Providence or Worcester], but Vai was.
My jaw also hit the floor watching Vai ... amazing. And
Dave is getting old, but still put on a heck of a show.

| This brings back fond memories of when I bought the FIRST Van Halen
album. I got back to my flat, turned the hi-fi (it was called that
in those days long before the CD...) and got completely blown away
by "Running with the devil". I can still listen to their verion of
"You relly got me" and it sends me into playin' that old imaginary
Fender. Whaaaowweeee!!!
So, what's old Diamond-Dave up to these days?

Dave's looking much older and tireder these days, living in a small
apartment in North Hollywood...I hear he's working on a collaboration
with Vanilla Ice...

In an age where David Bowie and Bing Crosby appear together on
a song, yes, I believe a reply like that does deserve a smiley.

619.15 | Super Greg | RICKS::CALCAGNI | There's no money to be made above the 5th fret | Thu Sep 22 1994 15:49 | 6 |
| Speaking of DLR, there's a Worcester area group called Super Greg
and Waterpark that do a hilarious tune about Dave. It's impossible
to describe, you gotta hear it.
I recommend this band if you like Primus, but wish they were weirder.
