-< Recommendation, please >-
}}I'm lookimg for a good album with
}}- great female vocalist
}}- light music
}}- from 60-now
}}Your recommendation will be appreciate.
Depends on how "Light" you are talking about?
I recommend: (Just about any album by...)
Loreena McKennitt (Very light. She also plays the harp.)
Enya (Light. I think she is Loreena M.'s sister??)
Curved Air (My personal favorite but VERY hard to find.)
Heart (Some of their lighter stuff never made top 40.)
Renaissance (An often overlooked and forgotten band that
probably never got the recognition that they
deserved. Nice female vocals. The LP that I
would recommend: Scheherazade & other tales.)
Celine Dion(Sp?) (Well, I like her, not sure why.)
Sade (Nice, night club sounding, to me anyway.)
Most of these (except maybe Heart) are off the beaten path which is
what I thought you might be looking for. Someone else can put the long
list of pop singers (Madonna, Mariah Carey, etc...) here for you.
You have to admit, this is a wide catagory request here....

| Janis Siegel - "Experiment In White"
A sophisticated album from one of today's masters. From the upbeat
cover of "Jackie" to the smokey ambiance of "Guess Who I Saw Today"
this collection is sheer delight.

| Maura O'Connell has a nice voice. I saw her open for Jonathan Edwards
a couple years ago.
Shawn Colvin is another good one. I've got her "Steady On" and "Fat
City" releases. I've heard some people complain that a lot of her
material sounds the same, but I like her voice.
Some others: Patti Larkin, early Suzanne Vega, Emmylou Harris

| I love Maria McKee's voice. Her most recent album is "You Gotta Sin To
Be Saved" and it has some really good songs on it.
I, also, like all Stevie Nicks solo albums. Her Greatest Hits is a
nice overview.

I recommend Gloria Estafan and Beverley Craven.
They are extreme talented composers as well, all their hits are
written by themselves.
