| Well, if you're in the New England area, try the Boston Globe - they
have a section called 'Ask the Globe' - they always seem to be
publishing fan club info . . .

if maybe Tower Records might be able to help.

| You can also write to The National Fan Club Association. I'm not sure
of the address, but if you want it I can get it for you tomorrow.

| Nancy that would be GREAT! Who I am looking for is Bette Midler's if
she has one. If not, I might be interested in starting one, I just
woud like to know how much time that entails, and what I would be
getting into ya know.
But thanks, that sounds like the correct place to look.

| Also they sometime have fan club info on the back of the artist album,
tape or cd. Usually in small print.

| Donna I checked. Unfortunately the only thing listed on her CD's is
Atlantic Records.... Plus I tried those MUSIC mags, Guitar, etc. but
that is more like Aerosmith, Van Halen type info. Rats!

Karen, I scanned the Yellow Pages CD for "Bette" (159 entries) and for
"Divine Miss" (1 significant entry) - there's a place called Divine
Miss M's in Missouri (314) 721-7271 - my guess is, if this isn't
somehow related to the fan club, they can tell you how to get in touch.
Just for curiosity's sake (you never read just one word's entry when
you pick up the dictionary, do you?) I scanned for "Fan Club". Lots of
responses on this one, mostly non-descript entries that make me think
this is probably just a popular name for a bar. Of course, it did turn
up some gems like the Gunilla Hutton and Bobby Vinton fan clubs...and
of course the Garth (buy my CD! again! & again!) Brooks fan club -
wonder how many times you have to pay your dues before you're a
member...

| Karen,
The address for fan clubs is:
The National Association of Fan Clubs
2730 Baltimore Avenue
Pueblo, Colorado 81003
I checked in the clubs directory for a Bette Midler fanclub and there
was none listed. This book is from 1991 so there could very well be
one now. Ask them about running a fanclub. They have a booklet they
sell on how to start a fanclub and keep it running.
They have some pretty bizarre fanclubs in this directory.
Good luck,
Nancy

| Well, I received a response back from the NAFC. There is no listing of
a Bette Midler Fan Club. Yippee! Now I can start one. The president
suggested that they "usually" recommend that the person wishing to
start the fan club get permission from the celebrity. So naturally I
typed that up, and it is on it's way.
I can't wait to hear back...hopefully.
