513.1 | Smokie, but no fire | OSLACT::HENRIKW | Riding the Nordic Territory | Wed Oct 06 1993 04:28 | 8 |
| The slightly balding Smokie members are often seen touring
with their reheated hits in Norway. "Living next door to
Alice" seems to be a song Norwegians are condemned do have
to endure for the rest of this century.
One of those bands I wish I was too _old_ to have experienced...

513.2 | any records since 1981? | UHUH::SOKOL | | Wed Oct 06 1993 10:34 | 6 |
| Do they have any records out since the last I've heard which is
"In the Middle of the Road" (I think it came out around 1981, title
could be slightly different, i don't have it to verify). I thouhgt that
their earlier staff was much better.

Just heard on the radio that Smokie are playing in some hotel in
Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan on thurs night.
They are unbelievably popular here in Ireland. Apparently their show is
a greatest hits package. Chris Norman lead singer and song writer has
long since left.
