    Don't get me wrong, I like her music. I just saw her on TV a few
    months ago and she came off looking pretty stoned.

I think that's just her style.

Personally, I'd rather have my toenails pulled off than hear "Chuckie's In
Love" once more in my lifetime, but I admire her individuality. ;^)

482.6I think she's the nutsCADVAX::LEMAIREFri Aug 20 1993 18:5912
    Rickie Lee has had her problems with substance abuse, and has been
    fairly candid about it in interviews. My impression (Did I read it?
    hear it? dream it?) is that she had cleaned up considerably, if not
    totally. I saw her about a year ago at Nightstage and she put on one
    hell of a show and seemed to me to be clean and serene. In fact, she
    even made references to her former lifestyle in her introduction to
    'Coolsville', the rendition of which was chilling and seemed like an
    exorcism of personal demons.

    Granted her diction is not the Queen's English, but anyone who used to
    hang out with Tom Waits deserves a little slack.

    I love her music -- very soulful and sincere.

    I'm listening to "Traffic from Paradise" now and digging it.

    Just thought I'd wake up this note!
