| Mystery Science Theater 3000 recently had an episode where the mad scientist
types had Morrissey in cold storage ... he came out and said things like
"Did I mention that I cried? Is it so wrong to not feel happy all the
time?" Then he sang a song about crying, death etc. ;^)
OSC: "Reel Around the Fountain" and "What Difference Does it Make" are great
tunes.

Assuming you can detect the humor in "....Sweetness, I was only joking
when I said that you should be bludgeoned in your bed...", I'd
highly recommend them.
Morrissey's off on his own these days though. So far he hasn't measured
up to the earlier "real" Smiths stuff, IMHO.

| Around three months ago my girlfriend and I went to a club in the city
of Industry and found out by Richard Blade(KROQ D.J.)that MORRISSEY
will be coming back to visit the U.S. this september to sing all the
songs in the new live album ("BETHOVAN'S DEATH").

| Well what can I say ? The Smiths are only the best band ever.
Morrissey's happy, sad, funny, melancholy, uplifting (yes uplifting)
lyrics sung over Marr's sweet melodies made the band a joy to listen to.
Ah it takes me back. Many a lonely night spent trying to get that jaw to
protrude in just the right manner. Or attempting to defy gravity and
stand my hair up with just the correct flick for the time (sometimes
straight up, sometimes slightly to one side). I think I've committed
more atrocities in the name of hairstyling than Sweeney Todd. Believe me
I've used gel, mousse, spray-gel, wax and - though I'm loathe to admit
it - soap. The dance club nights were almost spoiled by the fact that I
could never choose the right tee-shirt (my personal favourite being the
"lollypop" one) to go with my tattered black jacket. If I finally did
manage to get out it was a case of sitting in the corner with fellow
Smiths fans until a song by our beloved band came on. Then it was full
speed ahead to the dance floor to whirl and writhe in a pained manner
whilst at the same time tugging at your shirt.
I remember converting a few heathens in my time as well. For some
reason "The World Won't Listen" album works best for this so take note.
All this and I still love The Smiths.
Sean.

A Visit to the Pierre Lacriosse (sp?) cemetary in Paris is a must for
any Smiths' fan. Here the remains of Oscar Wilde lies entombed. The
stone monument is more a dedication to the demise of the Smiths than
Wilde. It is covered in messages to Morrissey, notable lyrics being
quoted.
Incidentelly Jim Morrison is buried here as well as Edith Piaff! Though
not in the same grave :)
