Anyone out there picked up the new World Party CD? I really liked their last one and I am thinking about picking up this one also. Even a simple yes or no vote would be appreciated. Thanks. Curt

Simple vote = YES Title is Bang. Personnally I didn't find it as catchy initially as their last album but it is still well worth a buy. There are some very good songs and musically it varies from Operatic "And God said ....." to the Beach Boys. On the CD version the last song (12) contains 20 minutes of silence and finishes up with an ode to Desert Storm (very appropriate again) in Beach Boy fashion. Wally | |||||

I picked it up. Its a good CD, but I agree with you, the last one was better. I noticed some interesting derivatives here. Mind you, not such a blatant copy that it was annoying but you can definitely here influence of the beatles, sly stone, even something that sounded like U2. By the way, my vote for stealing from the classics goes to Lenny Kravitz. This guy steals from everyone. Hmmm, a good topic for a base note... Curt |
