    About 4 years ago there was a benefit in Leominster for a young cancer
    victim, Derek Vaillencourt, in which bands from Digital participated.
    At the time Derek's prognosis was not very good and had about 1 year to
    live.  We were able to raise almost $3000 to help the family defray
    medical costs.  Derek continued to undergo treatment and by some
    miracle the tumors in his brain disapeared.  Unfortunately, that was
    not a permanent condition and about a year ago they returned.
    
    Derek died Friday, May 14, of cancer.
    
    I have been asked to thank everyone that participated in that benefit
    and know that we helped a little boy live a little longer.
