Gosh, I hope not. I love these guys. I even have a Christmas album
with them doing "The First Noel". But, last year, their only Boston
area appearence (that I knew of) was cancelled and I never heard of a
reschedule. Anyone know anything??? I'd love to go see them
(especially if they had a new album out).

The new CD is in my hot little hands right now.

God shuffled his feet (title track)
    	Afternoons & coffeespoons
    	Mmm mmm mmm mmm
In the days of the caveman
    	Swimming in your ocean
    	Here I stand before me
    	I think I'll dissappear now
    	How does a duck know?
When I go out with artists
    	The psychic
    	Two knights and maidens
    	Untitled

    Enjoy. I know I will.

    	Can someone describe the music?

Or are they one of those "undescribable" bands?

> Or are they one of those "undescribable" bands?

They might be describable but I am terrible at making such
classifications. You have surely heard the "Superman Song"?
The story of Superman and Tarzan?

    Superman never made any money
For saving the world from Solomon Grundy

Their other hit was "The Ghosts that Haunt Me Now".

I listened to the new CD last night. I like it but I guess I have to
listen to it a few more times to love it as much as I love The Ghosts
that Haunt Me album. The lyrics, as always, are very original.

    I love Brad's voice.

There is a song on the new CD: I Think I Will Dissappear Now"

I loved it. Maybe because I relate to it.

One hint as to the CTD type of music:
among the intruments played is a banjo.
    Hardly cyber-punk.

Lale, could you please supply the label and whatever ordering
info I can supply my dealer with? Thanks!

ARISTA. In Canada, it is distributed by BMG Music Canada Inc.
Let me know if it is not available over there, I'll send it to you.

There is no banjo on this disc. Accordion, mandolin, harmonica, but no
    banjo.

oh, by the way, Brad and Ellen are not sleeping together, in case you
    were wondering ;-)

re: Crash Test Dummies

As far as what they sound like, I can't definitively say, since I haven't heard
their latest single, but I did hear a DJ say "that was Crash Test Dummies". It
was on WBOS in Boston (soft album rock). So it ain't heavy metal. :-)

A believer is trying to "describe" God to a non-believer:

Believer: Neither female nor male. Neither in the sky nor on the
ground. Neither eats nor speaks. Neither ...

Non-Believer: You're going to say it doesn't exist but you can't
just come out and say it.

They have that Scottish sound, don't they? They also have a song
    about vacationing in Scotland ;-)

In the concert, they said that they wanted to have a few cover songs in
their repertoire but there were few out there, that suited the Dummies'
sound. They did do a couple of covers, I can't remember what they were.

After those couple of covers, they announced that they had come to a
strategic point in their performance and that they had run out of
songs to play. When the crowd continued to applaud, Brad said
"yeah, clap all you want" ;-)

One interesting line from their first album is
    "We'll go to Yugoslavia..."

The song was probably written while there _was_ a pleasant,
peaceful Yugoslavia, but the possible interpretations
and connotations of the line have changed (and will change).

Anyone heard them sing that line live recently?

re .12, I really like that song, but last time I listened to it I
noticed how ironic the Yugoslavia reference was.

Dont know too much about them except :-

    they're Canadian.

They supported Elvis Costello in the states.

Their latest album - featuring the "Mmmm, Mmm, MMmmmm...etc" song is
    okay.

their previous album isn't as good but probably still worth a listen.

They're alos playing a festival in the UK this summer, can't remember
    which one though.

The "Crash Test Dummies" are a Canadian group. Their recent hit
"Mmmmmm" has generated quite a bit of interest. I believe they have
    released 2 albums.
