317.0. "BIG DADDY" by SWAM2::MASSEY_VI (It's all in the cue) Fri Oct 30 1992 12:19

I would like to know if anyone out there in DECland has heard of

    	BID DADDY.

They are a 50's Retro band and are just great. The take modern rock
songs and sing them to 50's tunes. My mother has 2 of theirs CD's and
we listened to them last night and loved them. I understand that they
are more popular on the East coast and overseas.

Any comments or questions are welcome.

I agree that they are an absolute riot. It takes a wide appreciation
of music to take them, but there's definitely something there - must be
    heard to be understood.

...You might also be interested in a show now playing in Boston,
    called "Forever Plaid"...
It's a tribute to 50's groups like the the 4 Lads, and the 4
    Freshmen...
There is a soundtrack album available...

That's great. My mother is the office manager and stage manager for
Sounds of Music here in So. California. She has worked with Big Daddy
quite a few times and said they were better known on the East coast.
They do have 2 new CD's out that are wonderfull. I go to the country
bars around here and have been helping to get them booked there as
well. They do a variety of music that I know would be liked there.
