| Okay, let's see if I have the chronology right. There was a band
called Mother Love Bone whose lead singer died of an overdose. Members
of MLB and Soundgarden recorded a CD in tribute to him and they called
themselves Temple of the Dog. Some of the members of Temple of the
Dog, Mike McCready, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ahment went on to form Pearl
Jam. Pearl Jam's lead singer, Eddie Vedder, does some backing vocals
on TOTD. Did I get it right all you Seattle music scene experts? 8^)

| That sounds correct....Also in TOTD was Matt Camaron (drums) and
Chris Cornell (vocals) both from Soundgarden.

| This is one solid album. Chris Cornell wrote all the lyrics and most
of the music. It's hard to say if it is a one shot deal, but all those
in TOTD are currently in HOT other bands, and that all this was written
and recorded before Pearl Jam's "ten" was released. Who knows, after
all, all those guys have been friends for a good 10 years or so, I just
hope it doesn't require another death to inspire more music of that
caliber.

| What's lead? On "Hunger Strike", there is only one verse, and it is
sung first by Chris Cornell (the lead vocalist for the rest of the
album, and, of course, of Soundgarden). The verse is then repeated by
Eddie Vedder. After this there is much "Question and Answer" with the
phrase "I'm going hungry" initiated by Vedder and responded by Cornell.
More of a duet really, and he is backup on a couple other tunes. I
wouldn't put either of them down vocally for a second, both very
distinctive (I'd kind of like to hear Chris Cornell do an old Rush
cover, I think he's got just the right edge to pull it off).
