Saloon? Don't remember a saloon, are you sure? Wasn't it due to the
fact that the River City billiard parlor was installing a pool table
that Prof. Harold Hill was able to whip up the enthusiasm of the
local citizenry for a boy's band? FWIW, though, I've only seen the
movie, not an authentic stage production of the musical, don't know
to what extent there are differences in terms of River City's business
community.
