Patti Smythe. She went on her own after their second release, and faded
after her first solo album.
Good band, bad decision on her part.

| Their only other brush with success was the song "I am the Warrior".
The singer's name is Patty Smythe and I remember reading an article way
back when that mentioned that she was less than 5' tall (in case you
care). They were talking about how they had to get band members to
crouch around her during photo shoots.

I think the solo album was called 'The Warrior'. Don't know how it was.
Smythe also appears as a backup guest vocalist on 'Where Do the Children
Go' by the Hooters ('Nervous Night') and 'Sunset Grill' by Don Henley
('Building the Perfect Beast').
Was it my imagination, or did Ms. Smythe also have a Barbara
Walters'-like speech problem with r's, pronouncing them like w's ? I
seem to remember the 'I am the warrior' chorus being sung by her as "I
am the wawwiuh'.

I never knew who did that even though my band did that tune - it was
just on a tape of tunes I had to learn.

| There was an EP released by Scandal, and that had the hits "Love's Got A
Line On You" and "Goodbye To You". For their second album, the band
was called Scandal Featuring Patty Smythe, and that album had the hit
"The Warrior" on it.
Patti then went fully solo, but had little success. Although she did do
a cover of Tom Wait's "Downtown Train" years before Rod Stewart did.....
And she is cute - I have a poster of her (from the first EP) hanging in
my office at work! 8^)

still would of used titles like OU812?

I wish Patti *did* join Van Halen. It's been a long time since
a female has sung straight-ahead rock with a virtuoso guitarist.
Pat Benatar and husband-guitarist Neil Geraldo come to mind.
Heart....well, let me put it this way: I *still* miss Roger Fisher.
Beyond that, who else is there?

I've been a long time fan of Patti Smyth. Her second solo effort was
called "Never Enough" which the title cut got alot of airplay several
years ago. It is a very good album, as good or better than "Warrior"
if you liked that one. One of the great female voices in rock. I would
really like to hear more from her.

Smyth do "Because The Night".

Depends on which album you look at. Patti's album says she did the
lyrics. Bruce's version on the live set has slightly different words.
