| This has to be a windup.....Des cant carry a tune for his life....
I remember seeing his totally mess up a duet with Neil Diamond, and he
has done the same with Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones and many others..
YUCK|! In my opinion of course :)

I agree with you Richard,I too, am an avid fan of 'old Des'.I
especially liked the Skye Boat Song he 'whistled' with the
great Roger Whitaker.Certainly a refreshing outlook to the
pop scene.Obviously, he is no longer at his peak, but he is still
a good entertainer.I would like to hear from other admirers of
Des, whether he makes them orgasm like Richard or just brings
a world of pleasure into their eardrums like me.
Yours John.

| Old Des is sadly underrated these days, IMO. My favourite of
his hits (he's had 7 chart successes, by the way, including 3
top 10's) has got to be "Dick-A-Dum-Dum (Kings Road)". Somehow
it caught the mood of the time like no other record.
It's not generally known that Des is Sinead O'Connor's grandfather.

| I had the pleasure of seeing Des live at Weston-Super-Mare when i was
eight. He did all his old hits and other peoples of course and the
audience went wild. I think his best album is Des O'conner Now, from
about 1987, very entertaining.

For all you Dessie fans,
I heard on the radio this morning that CBS are to organise a Chat show
featuring Des which will be sold to as many English speaking Countries
as possible...Not only that, but Sony apparently have contracted him to
EIGHT more albums !......
I'm sure that'll make someone happy!!

The series has started in the UK. There have been two 1 hour
editions already. The first US one is next Wednesday.

He sung that last night. Great song, first time I'd heard it for
ages. He actually performed it as a duet with the star of the new
film about Columbus - who incidently wrote the song!
