221.0. "Adrian Legg" by USPMLO::SULLIVAN () Mon May 11 1992 13:38

Has anyone seen Adrian Legg in a live show?

I just "discovered" his CD and think he is an
    fabulous acoutic guitar player.

He's going to be at Johnny D's Tuesday night and
I was just wondering how good he is live...any
    feedback?

    Thanks
    Maureen

221.1IOSG::CREASYGoodnight out there... whatever you areTue May 12 1992 10:177
Adrian Legg? He's made it to the US, has he? Yeah, I've seen him, and
if you're a guitarist, go along, you'll be impressed. I saw him last
year, and kept thinking "how does he DO that?"...

He also has a good line in chat between numbers.

I was hoping someone from Europe would respond! ;')

Adrian is from England I believe. He is making the rounds in
the US now...this last CD called "Guitar for Mortals" was produced
in LA. I guess he has another CD called "Guitars and Cathedrals" or
    something to that effect.

IMHO this man is so good that on one of the songs he plays...if you
close your eyes and just LISTEN you would think someone is playing
the harp....I consider that pretty darn impressive - that he can
play the guitar so delicately but so fully.

Glad to hear that he isn't a "bore" on stage either.

I am looking forward to hearing him tonight at Johnny D's and would
recommend that anyone who's into acoutic guitar playing try to come
    and hear this guy play.

221.3So Maureen, did you enjoy Leggy?IOSG::CREASYIf we don't sell T-shirts in that number, we never willWed May 13 1992 09:381

    YES! Very much...

He is extremely talented and the stories he told were great. Another
nice thing was that he talked alot about what inspired him to write
a certain piece of music...I like that - it helps you understand/
    appreciate the musician better.

I even chatted with him for a bit before the show.

I guess that was the second time Adrian had been to Johnny D's. THere
was a could turn out of people for the show....he said he will be
    come back soon.

It was DEFINITELY worth the $7!

FYI - he has 2 CDs out: Guitars and other Cathedrals
Guitars for Mortals - this is one that I have

Listen to him - and you'll be hooked!

221.5Where can you get "Guitars and other Cathederals" from ? YOROWN::WALTERSMay you never...Mon May 18 1992 10:1614
Hi,
I used to have the above mentioned album on tape until the car stereo
decided that it liked it too and ate it :-(
The album is deleted over here in Britain, although I hear it is available in
the States. anybody got any idea where I might be able to get it on CD ??
BTW I have the new "Guitar for lesser mortals" - it's pretty good although
IMHO is not as flowing as "Guitars and other Cathederals" which is pretty
amazing stuff !

If anybody has any hints as to how I can get hold of
"Guitars and other Cathederals" on CD, I'd be most grateful.

Thanks,
		Chris Walters

I love it...here in the US we have to get Euro imports of our more
obscure local heroes and then you guys across the pond have to get US
    imports of *yours*....

Maybe we should set up a co-operative across the pond with the aim of importing
and exporting. If that didn't work, we could always relocate obscure musicians
from the States to Britain and vice-versa. Another way to beat the brown
envelope...
