I thought i'd start this topic as i'm a follower of Paul Heaton. Paul now with the Beautiful south and formerly with the Housemartins has produced some good records since the mid eighties, Me And The Farmer, I'll Sail This Ship Alone, A Song For Whoever, Think For a Minute, Sheep, Five Get Over Exited, ect... I would be intrested to hear your views on both bands and their music and also on Paul Heaton himself. ANDY.B.

Beautiful South - gotta love both albums - (Welcome to) The Beautiful South - and Choke. There's a song on the debut called _I Love You (But You're Boring)_. On the second there's one called _I Hate You (But You're Ineteresting). The music's good, and the lyrics are interesting - many of the songs show their darker humorous sides. Also - the Housemartins are (sorry - were) a decent band. I'd recommend their "greatest hits" album _Now That's What I Call Quite Good_ - it has most of the best songs with the glaring exception of _Get Up Off Your Knees_. -Jimbo | |||||

I have just about every 12"inch of the Housemartins all apart from Sheep and Flag day, I have been searching for them to finish the collection. Some of the Housemartins better tracks came from their B'sides, songs like, I bit my lip, Rap around the clock, He aint heavy, and what i thought was one of their best songs, Rebel without airplay. Did anyone buy the Housemartin video collection, The best video has to be Happy hour, Five get over exited was also brilliant with Dave Hemmingway joining the the band within the video..
