110.0. "Lita Ford" by SELL1::FAHEL (Amalthea Celebras/Silver Unicorn) Tue Jan 07 1992 09:30

    We recently picked up Lita's newest - "Dangerous Curves".

    IMO, this one isn't as good as "Stiletto", but does have some very good
    songs on it. My favorite off of this one is "Hellbound Train" - strong
    beginning, strong throughout. Love the barking dogs at the end. Some
    of the other songs are "Black Widow" (no, not another Alice Cooper
    remake - this one's original), "Shot of Poison", "Tambourine Dream" and
    a lovely little instrumental at the end (I THINK the title is "Little
    Black Spider").

    And to those male fans...there is an interesting sketch inside.

    Not an album for first time Lita listeners...definitely a fan album,
    IMO. (I recommend either "Lita" or "Stiletto" for first timers.)

    	The first song, "Larger than Life", is my favorite.

    	And her first album, "Dancing on the Edge", is my favorite of hers.

    re: .1

    Wrong! "Out For Blood" was her first..."Dancing On The Edge" was her
    second. Then was "Lita", "Stiletto" and "Dangerous Curves".

    If anyone knows of any that _I'M_ missing, let me know! (I also have 2
    vid's - "Lita" (concert & 3 videos) and "Midnight Snack" (interviews &
    3 videos).

110.3Same song?CYNO::FERRISHow many more times?...Wed Jan 08 1992 08:465

     Is this the same "Hellbound Train" by Savoy Brown? I'm wondering if
    she did a cover of this.

    "Goin' down tonight on a hellbound train..."

    Couldn't tell you...but I don't think so. I know that most of the
    songs were co-written by Ford herself...but all?

    I'll have to check.

    I thought Savoy Brown's song was "Train to Nowhere", not to be
    confused with the Talking Heads version. Savoy Brown's best
    album, IMHO, was "A Step Further". One whole side is a "live boogie"
    called "The Savoy Brown Boogie".

    There *was* a Savoy Brown album and song called "Hellbound Train", in
    addition to the "Train to Nowhere" (those blooz guys like trains, eh?)
    but the quote from the Lita tune doesn't sound similar to the SB tune.

    	RE: KC

    	Thanks for the correction ... didn't check the dates on the al-
    	bums.

    	And yes, you've got all her solo stuff. I'm sure you knew she
    	was in The Runaways with Joan Jett, who had a couple albums or
    	so.

    Yup...knew that, but sadly, we only have one Runaways album "Little
    Lost Girls".

    Anyone know who wrote Lita's current hit song (the cool one they are
    playing on the radio now...Gimme One Shot of Poison)??
110.12Shot Of PoisonSELL1::FAHELAmalthea Celebras/Silver UnicornFri Apr 24 1992 17:194
    "Shot Of Poison" was written by Jim Vallance, Myron Grombacher and the
    lady herself - Lita!

110.14Lita Ford Interview CdESGWST::MIRASSOUWe're gonna need another Timmy!Wed Oct 21 1992 18:387
    For those of you interested...

    I was browsing through Tower Records the other night, and came across
    a Lita Ford picture cd. Looks like it was an interview with her.

    It's put out by BakTabak records, Ltd. of England. Looks like there's
    a whole series of interview disks they've put out.
