Anybody heard anything about Jane Olivor recording again? A recent Boston Globe article mentioned that she had given up music to get married but her husband died of cancer a year after the wedding, and she's back doing one night stands, but there was no mention of any recording contract. Help... Jim

Jane made a brief Christmas eve appearance with Johnny Mathis on the Oprah show. To promote Johnny's latest release, which is a compilation of duets, they sang their hit from long ago [The Last Time...mumble mumble] Jane was not given a chance to talk, but she looked younger than ever, and sounded fine. Having waited for years to see Jane Olivor perform I saw her twice (on two nights) this past year. She was wonderful and still sings the best. No news of a new contract, though folks keep saying they see her pop on tv now and again. They never can be quite sure where they've seen her. Seeing Jane sing and shaking her hand (yes I rushed the stage) was wonderful. Noone sings like Jane Olivor. I wish she would record soon. Loved her "Sipping Wine from Crysal Goblets" number during concert and loved her love of country music too. -bill- |
