RE: ELF
I recall the version of ELF prior to it being interfaced with ELF
allowed servers to be specified via two logicals, one primary and
another a secondary system. If you picked a server that had a
relatively heavy load you would find them elves too busy most of
the time. I'd suggest you mention that you have trouble with
access to the VTX ELF database to the contacts listed in VTX
or the ELF administrator.
The other thing related to people leaving DEC is the process
that is supposed to handle account removal following someone
leaving. I know there's termination lists that are sued
for this but have you ever sent mail to someone and later
found out they were gone neons ago? Another good one is when
their account is properly removed but since the VMSmail entry
remains in tact unless you explicitly delete it if the person
had forwarding set then mail will still go through and you
won't even know that particular account on the system is gone.
The no such user message at least gives you a clue that they
have changed systems or left the company.

Like I said, I don't remember. Usually, if I delete a note I remember
it since most deleted notes are inflammatory or some-such. In this
case, I have no recollection at all about this particular note, which
indicates that if I did do it, it was probably accidental.
If the author was real attached to the note, you should suggest they
re-enter it. And send them my apologies as well...

I just found out about this guy in Dudley who recovers old drums and makes them
look like new. I saw some of his work last night and it looked mint.
I'm not just talking taking a black color drum set and making it red or what
ever color. He's got some really wild metalic colors, that sparkle and really
make any set look 10 times more expsensive.
I was very impressed. He's got a whole book of colors and wild patterns to
choose from. If any body is interested you should check him out. I have his card
at home. If anybody is interested please send me mail for more information.
He also repairs drums.

Welcome to the WRITE_LOCKED conference. Nothing is inappropriate for this
conference, it's write locked. Every note is write locked, every reply is
hidden, the conference is write locked.
Finally, you don't have to be tolerant, value differences, or be a team
player. Just be yourself. And be paid for your performance.
All conferences have rules, and this one is no exception. We simply ask:
1. Be kind; rewind.
2. Close cover before striking.
3. Although this conference is write locked, we ask that you use mixed
case. Using all capital letters is annoying, even if it's an intention.

Is there a special reggae conference? A note somewhere? I can't

Any pointers welcome,

Rutles Hiway Rev. is actually, you see, a Beatles tribute album with no
Beatles songs on it.
The only real dog on there is the Penn Jillette "group" (can't remember the
name) with their cover of the Rutles' imitation of "Twist & Shout" in which
they prove themselves incapable of playing without error an enormously simple
song with an enormously simple rhythm. (Of course, inability to do this
didn't stop the Doors). To make it worse, I think Penn's vast magic fortune
is the power source of Shimmydisk, which explains his presence on an album with
such titans as Syd Straw.
