The Ross Warner Octet at the Wilmington Arts Center
				Middlesex Turnpike (Rte 62)
				   Wilmington, MA
                             Friday, Oct. 15, 8-11

RWO is a group of DEC and former DEC Jazz musicians who perform
original arrangements of classic jazz tunes by the likes of Charlie
Parker, Horace Silver, Sonny Rollins, Billy Strayhorn, Charles Mingus,
    Miles Davis, and Thelonious Monk.
We're doing a benefit concert for the Wilmington Arts Center. And it gives
us a chance to show off our newest addition: trumpeter Warren Anderson,
a fine soloist and arranger. The other members are Mike Axel on trumpet
and flugelhorn, John Franzosa, Lin Ayer and Ken Mamayek on saxophones,
Ralph Pepe on bass, Paul Pinette on drums, and Ross Warner, pianist
    and boss of the job.
From Rte I-93, take exit 40 (Rte 62 in Wilmington westbound). The Arts
Center is on Rte 62 about 2 miles ahead on the left hand side right
after the cemetery. The parking lot isn't that big but there's a big
white church across the street that has a parking lot if necessary.

Can you continue to post it? Maybe in its own note.
It's really hard to find out about some shows - like
Austin City Limits - the wandering nomad of a show - never
on in the same time slot twice!

    Thanks pal!

For those who haven't heard of or seen the film "The Commitments",
here is some background about it and the band. The film is about a group of
working class Dublin musicians attempting to make the big time. And they did.
Not only the film was nominated for an academy award, also its two spin off
CD's have sold millions of copies world-wide. The casting sessions were set
up in Dublin, out of 4,000 applicants the band was formed of mainly young
Irish musicians. According to Jerry Tallmer of the New York Post, this film
may be the best non-documentary rock and roll movie ever made.
Two years after the film's release, original members of the cast
created "The committed: Tour featuring Stars from the Commitments", which
brings all the raw energy and soul of the film into the concert hall. After
Brit Awards, Gold Albums, and Grammy's, the band is still bringing
"Irish Soul Music" to audiences all over the world, playing all the classic
songs from the films including "Mustang Sally", "Mr. Pitiful", and
"Try a Little Tenderness". This show will be their final show of its
American tour.
We have had the good fortune to procure their services at about half
their usual rate. The price for the ticket is $21.50 in advance and $25.00 at
the door. Proceeds will go to benefit the Acton-Boxborough Youth Hockey
Association. You may also purchase tickets from the following local stores:
	  Video Signals (Acton/Concord/Boxborough/Stow/Sudbury),
	  American Video(Acton/Concord/Littleton/Westford),
Sudbury Music Center, Snow Pharmacy (Concord),
Action Music & sound (Leominster), The Minor Chord (Acton),
Acton Pharmacy, Legends Sporting Goods(Acton), and
	  Acton Music Center.
Oh, please feel free to distribute this message to your families and
friends. Come and enjoy the night with us!
