| My sister goes to a really good place in Manchester. I will find out
the name. Booths are better than beds. If you can stand the whole time.
Booths which are hard to find, give you A MUCH better tan. With beds
you can't get your whole body, even when you flip over. Also, you have
to spend A LOT less time in a booth vs. a bed. I would tan in a bed for
25-30 mins. then I switched to a place with booth's and i'd be in there
5-11 mins, max! What a difference. So you're being exposed to harmful
UVA and UVB rays a lot less. Plus booth's get those hard to reach
places like the back of your neck the back of your knees, ankles, etc.
Good Luck!

| OK, since entering the base note, I've been going to a place in
Londonderry called Professionally Yours. They have just the booths.
Maximum time allowed in their booths is 15 minutes. I've been in
5 times now and already I've started a decent tan. You do get very
good coverage in the booths. (put your hands up on your head for a
while to allow your sides to get some tanning as well).
As I stated in the base note, most places had similar packages like
15 visits/$25. Professionally Yours' package is one month/unlimited
visits for $29.95. So far, so good.

| That's a great deal - in Nashua @ Tanorama it's 12 visits for $40 and
that was with a coupon. Usually 10 visits for $39.

Tanning is dangerous and unnecessary. Skin cancer is painful and often
fatal. Use sun block and avoid tanning as much as possible.

| Does anyone know if the tanning booth in the new World Gym (near the
FAA center in Nashua) is "free" or "extra"?

I do wonder whether the tanning places get regulars who go all the time, vs
.0 who only wants to not suffer on their vacation. I have tanned, but
only every 5 years or so, when we can juggle a winter vacation.
We found that you have to monitor the timings yourself. My fair-skinned wife had
to inform them several times that she was going for less time than they recommended
to prevent suffering. (If you're suffering from the tanning, it obviously isn't
good for you!)

| I wrote a note before. The place my sister goes also has something

| I wrote a note before this one. The place my sister goes tanning is
called Super Tan. It has the two latest tanning technologies. One is
called The Bronzer? and I think the other one is Power Tan. One has no
UVA, and the other has something like 2%UVA and no UVB rays!

| re:0
A bit off topic, but I just returned from a week long Caribean cruise
and found that single morning applications of sun block 30 prevented me
from getting burned with absolutely no prior base tan.
I am not a "lay out in the sun" kind of person, but I really enjoy
the water (pools, beaches, snorkeling, scuba) and the tours. About the
only problem I had was that the top of my head got burned snorkeling. I
have too much hair to apply sun block, but not enough to protect my
scalp from the sun, especially when wet. You can't wear a hat and
snorkel. I heard of a shampoo with sun block, but this was already
after the fact.
Of course if part of going on the cruise is to come back with a tan
to show off, then you can disregard this. This is just to note that
with a little care, you really don't need a base tan.

| Hi Ray. Thanks for the note. Thanks to all other replies as well.
While we're not 'sun-worshipers', we do want some color for two
reasons. One I've already mentioned, we don't want to fry on the
cruise. The other is that we are getting married (this cruise is
our honeymoon) and we prefer not to be so pale, her in her white
gown, me in my black tux.
