351.0. "winzip and folders" by SHOGUN::SKOWYRA () Thu May 15 1997 11:46

    I am zipping files using winzip32 utility. The files Im zipping have
    multiple folders..Some folders have files, some dont. When I zip the
    files and extract them the folders with data are restored, the ones
    without data are not created....How come?? Am I doing something
    wrong...

You're probably not doing anything wrong.

I don't know about winzip32 in particular ... But it seems to be typical
of the unzip programs that they don't create empty subdirectories, even
though the .ZIP file may hold entries for all the original subdirectories.
Thus it's a characteristic of the unzipper.

I thought I'd seen a command flag to tell one of the unzipper programs to
extract all directories, even empty ones; but now I can't find that. Must
have been my imagination.
