I am zipping files using winzip32 utility. The files Im zipping have multiple folders..Some folders have files, some dont. When I zip the files and extract them the folders with data are restored, the ones without data are not created....How come?? Am I doing something wrong... John Ski

You're probably not doing anything wrong. I don't know about winzip32 in particular ... But it seems to be typical of the unzip programs that they don't create empty subdirectories, even though the .ZIP file may hold entries for all the original subdirectories. Thus it's a characteristic of the unzipper. I thought I'd seen a command flag to tell one of the unzipper programs to extract all directories, even empty ones; but now I can't find that. Must have been my imagination. |
