    Probably have to search through a lot of old info for this one... moldy
    oldy version.
    
    VAX 4000/96
    OPENVMS V 5.5-2H4
    DEC DFS V1.2
    
    Has license for DFS-CLIENT
    200 Units
    
    Software installed and configured to only run DFS Client on the VAX
    4000/96 Startup of DFS always fails with:
    
      -LICENSE-E-NOAUTH, DEC DFS use is not authorized on this node
    
    As a workaround, instructed the customer to reuse his DFS license from
    a VAX 7000 system.  This is a full DFS license, not just a client. 
    Software starts properly now.
    
    Since the customer is not violating the spirit of the license
    agreement, and is not running anything they have not purchased, I
    stated that this should be an acceptable workaround until we can
    correct the technical reason for the DFS-CLIENT license not working.
    
    Anyone recall similar problem?  Solution??
