So how about Vlad Bobrik, very young star of an late 80s Tour Dupont.
He led the race until the final stages. At the time there was still
some cold war feelings in the US and major work by I think 7-Eleven
stopped him from winning. Ohh I'm remembering more now it was'nt the
Tour Dupont it was then called the Tour Du Trump. Word had it that
Donald Trump (one of the worlds richect men) did'nt want a Russian
winning his race so he put the word out to the teams to have this
young phenomena beaten in the race.
Bobrik was only 18 at the time.

Vladislav BOBRIK (Russia) has started this year's Giro with Nr. 141,
he has been the captain of the team Ros Mary.
He has retired after stage 12 (La Spezia - Varesse)
