| Hello Cheryl,
I have done IUI's with Metrodin (a form of Pergenol with just
FSH), Profasi and Progesterone. I did three cycles in a row
with these drugs and now am on a 3 month break because of
a miscarriage in early June. I have been off the Fertility
drugs for 5 weeks now and feel pretty good. I have noticed less
headaches now than while I was taking the drugs.
However a friend of mine was taking Lupron last month and has
been feeling some of the same symptoms you described now that she's
off it. She was doing an IFV cycle and was on Pergonal/Lupron,
they cancelled her cycle though because she had 20 mature
follicles and her estrodile level was way too high. They (Boston
IVF) told her it could be dangerous for a pregnancy if her
estrodile level was too high.
Actually, this friend is from my RESOLVE support group and
we got together this past wkend and I remember her and
another girl who was there talking about both feeling these
symptoms. The other girl also was doing Pergonol/Lupron
for and IVF cycle and she had no eggs fertilize so they
cancelled her cycle too. And she has been off the drugs
for a few weeks too.
I think your body has to re-adjust. I'm wondering right
now if I'm going to get a period on my own. For the last
3 months they gave me drugs to produce folicles, drugs
to make the folicles mature, a drug to make me ovulate,
and a drug to build up the lining of my uterus. Kinda
makes you wonder if you can do it on your own now.
Where and when are you doing your IVF cycle?
I'm going to start my IUI cycle's again in
September. The Dr. is going to try Pergonol
this time instead of Metrodin.
Well, don't know if I helped with your question. I
thought I would just tell you about 2 girls I know
that have felt the same way.

| I will be doing IVF through IVF Australia in Waltham. I have already
sent in my records and will be giving them a call next week to set up
an appointment and then hopefully we can get started in September. My
doctors gave me several names, but because of my location (Nashua, NH)
I decided that maybe Waltham would be easier to deal with, plus I have
a friend who had success with them and she highly recommended them.
Your response was enlightening to know that it is the medication. I
can't wait until I start feeling better. I'm also hoping that I have a
few cycles on my own. I have polycystic disease and had laser surgery
last December. When I came of the medication, the doctor I was seeing
said their is a chance that I can have normal cycles on my own because
the polycystic has started growing back yet. It would be so nice to
have normal cycles with no medication and then finally get pregnant
even before starting IVF. Keeping my fingers crossed that it works.
Thanks for your response and good luck when you start up again.
