996.0. "Who is Due in July?????" by GRANMA::DHOWARD (Alls swell that ends swell...) Wed Jun 26 1991 17:39

I'm due in a month and am getting pretty excited about it. I thought I
would start a note here for people who are also expecting in July (or
end of June or beginning of August). So reply and let me know what
date your're due, what # child you're expecting, how you are carrying,
feeling, etc. And we can keep track of each other and cheer each other
    "over the finish line"!

As we have doctor visits, sonograms, give birth, (whatever) feel free
to update the topic as well. I think sharing our experiences in this
way could be extremely insightful for other expectant readers, as well
    rekindling warm memories for others.

    I'll start:

    Due: July 23
Hoping for: VBAC (Vaginal birth after Cesearan)
    # Child: 4
Carrying: higher than my son (almost 3), spread out wide, all in front
    Sonogram: shows a baby girl!
Feeling: tired, achy, but all-in-all, pretty well!

    Lady in waiting,

    Hi Dale,

I thought of this too, since there seem to be a lot of us! I'm
    glad you started this note.

    - I'm due July 8 (home on STD now, in fact)
    - this will be our second
    - carrying high and all in front, whew, what a belly!
    - feeling ready for this pregnancy to be over! Had a lot of
nausea and insomnia with this one...
    - don't know the sex...having trouble picking names, too...
    - finally getting excited to meet this new one

    I am due July 23rd also. This is #2. I have a 3 1/2 year old girl.
This pregnancy is completly differentfrom the first. I am carrying
all in front. I was very round and fat all over with the last.
I am just startingto get very tired. I work 2nd shift 4 to 10.
My last day of work will be July 3rd, I can't wait.
I was early with #1 (5 days) but very fast delivery.
I went to the hospital a 7:30p.m. and delivered
at 11:08p.m. I was 8 centimeters when I got there. So I am a little
nerveous with this one. I just hope I make it thru the 4th of July.
My birthday is July9th and my husband is the 20th so we have a few
    birthday already.

I'm due Aug 3; my son will be 3 on July 24th. I'm carrying the same as
I did with him - very low, and all in front like a watermelon carried
lengthwise. Don't know the sex; don't have names picked out; and all I
    want is a nap! :-)

996.4I'm due July 29thASABET::MACGILLIVARYThu Jun 27 1991 10:5810
I am due July 29th. This is our first. It's a girl, confirmed from
amnio. Her name is Karen Lee. Both my husband and I have really
enjoyed knowing her sex ahead of time. I am carrying all in the front
and very high. The doctor says she is very big from the ultrasound
readings. Except for not sleeping very well, all in all I have felt
very good throughout and have enjoyed being pregnant. Can't wait until
she is born, having waiting so long to have a baby, it seems almost too
    good to be true!

Just for the record here - my husband (Ben)'s sister gave birth eight
years ago on his birthday (Feb. 7), so I could possibly return the
favor by having this one on his sister's birthday (July 28). Chase,
who will be 3, and I share the same birthday (July 18). Wouldn't it be
something if I have this one 5 days early??? (Due July 23)...

    I think we'd need a bigger cake!

6 more weeks to go to the day

Due: Aug 9th It's our first
Name: if it's early - under
          if it's late - over
          if on due date- well
    Our last name is dunn
Just kidding! The kid would never forgive me
Sex - unknown and don't care (although I am getting nosy - the sealed
envelope with the info is in the Dr. office - I chickened out on
    finding out)
Weight - I've gained too much! Thanks for Ben & Jerry's Chocolate
    					fudge brownie ice cream

No problems fortunately so far, but I think it's going to come early
for some reason. Having trouble sleeping, mostly because we have
NOTHING done for the baby's room yet. It's currently a catch-all room
and I really need my husband's help in getting it cleaned up and things
moved out. Like bookcase, file cabinet, wedding presents etc. And if
I come early, this kid won't have anywhere to sleep. Carpets also need
to be installed in both bedrooms. I plead for help daily but this guy
is a workaholic and burns himself out from work, he has no energy left
at night. He's just making it harder on himself cause I won't be able
    to help him later.

Anxious to have this baby and VERY much looking forward to the birth.
Both of us are only children and only his mother is still living. So
this kid is where all of our focus and energy will be going over the
next few years. And I won't repeat our parents' tradition. This kid
    will have a sibling.

    Good luck everyone.

Just to update: Had an ultrasound on July 5th, and the baby is
head-down (which was a concern as I am a candidate for VBAC, and my doc
said that if the baby was breech, I couldn't try VBAC).

At last week's appointment, I was told that things were "getting
ready". My OB said that I've dilated 1 finger (which I believe equates
to 2 centimeters). At this morning's visit, I'm still the same... my
husband is a bit disappointed, but frankly I'm not - my mother is
coming to town on Thursday, and if I have the baby early, she'll be
    very disappointed.

I'm feeling very tired, and the Braxton-Hicks contractions are getting
    stronger lately.

Eight days 'till my due date!

996.9today is duedayRTOEU::WROSNERTue Jul 16 1991 04:4615
We are due today 16th of July but this morning there were still no
signs that THE event is going to start today.
It is our first child and we did not want to know whether it will be a
HE or SHE. This is why we are getting even more excited since we are
almost over the due date. My wife gained about 15 kilos during her
pregnancy but besides some back ache, had no problems during this time.
Actually she says she enjoyed this time very much and is looking
forward for the birth now, which will be a totally new experience for
    both of us.
The name is still a big secret so far, but we have covered both sexes.
I will let you know in the topic "birth adiptions"

    In good expectations.

996.11Due July 17!!VMSMKT::COLEMANTue Jul 16 1991 16:0426

We are due tomorrow!, July 17th, and no signs of readiness yet.
I am home on maternity leave and enjoying every single minute of
it, whoever said they were bored for 2 weeks should talk to me!
There are plenty of things to do and the most fun is doing them
    	'relaxed' rather than 'rushed'.

My pregancy has been great!, no problems.
    	I've gained 24 lbs.
I am carrying up front and in the middle (neither low nor high).
Actually, I'm not real big; no weight gain anywhere else but baby.

We don't know the sex and don't want to!
We have our names ready to go, and our bags all packed.
I'm still sleeping through the night, with 1 bathroom run.
I still have energy, but bending is getting more difficult!

Baby's head is down and ready to go.
The dr. said not to plan on going early....but 'early' is almost a
    		word of the past!
Contractions (bh) are starting to come stronger & more regular.
We completed childbirth classes and practice our breathing nightly!

Great note!, will let you know when we have our 1st child!

996.12THE WAITING MANRTOEU::WROSNERWed Jul 17 1991 10:0116
    Betty, Dave,

Also we are ready to go with the bags packed, the baby's head down and
the first contractions. The midwife told us on the telephone, that we
still should wait until the labor-pains really become serious before
going to the hospital. For me as father it is the best that I still
went to work today, because there still seems to be no progess at the
moment. (My wife and I are calling each other periodically) So I will
    not become nervous.
Does anyone have an idea how long this still can take ?
Please let me know how it went in your case.

Currently we are one day past the due date.

    werner...

I went 12 days past due (not a miscalculation by my doctor or me). My
mother was late with all three of her children. I have a friend who
was "late" by almost 6 weeks I think. They kept a close eye on the
baby and figured they must have miscalculated--the baby was born a very
healthy 11 pounds!!! He's been a big kid ever since!

Your mileage will definately vary when it comes to birthin' babies!
