My husband and I have been trying to have a child for 3 years now. I have been seeing an infertility specialists for about 1 year now. I had a laparoscopy last Friday. They found some endometriosis and a small cyst over my right ovary. They removed all traces of the endometriosis. I've read information on Endometriosis but can someone tell me in clear terms what it is? Is Endometriosis a big cause of infertility? Thanks for your help, Angela

I may not be 100% correct on all of this information, but if I am not mistaken, Endomitriosis, is the tissue that normally grows on the inside of the uterus, but has somehow escaped to the outside of the uterus, and starts growing around your ovaries, tubes etc. I did some reading on this around Decmeber when I was having some pain, and had to have a laparoscapy myself. (none found) From what I read, I think it can/ and does contribute to infertility. But the sucess rate of pregnancy after removal is fairly high. There may also be a couple notes onthe subject in 105.* Chris |
