719.1 | Hammetts in Framingham Ma. | HDLITE::FLEURY | | Thu Feb 21 1991 14:43 | 10 |
| Jane,
I don't recall anyplace other than the Early Learning Center in
southern NH, but down here in Framingbam there is a school supply store
called Hammetts which carries it. How much do you need? My wife
frequents this place since we have daycare in our home. I would be
glad to get some for you. Travel up to MKO occasionally. Send me
mail.

| FWIW, Hammett's also has stores in Boston and Braintree.

| Try Ben Franklin's (K-Mart Plaza on 101 in Nashua) or Lee Ward's
(Burlington). They're large craft stores and would probably have
something in stock or be able to point you in the right direction.

719.4 | Bathtub soap-crayons?? | NRADM::TRIPPL | | Mon Feb 25 1991 17:01 | 8 |
| This may sound way off base, but there's a kind of soap that is
designed for kids to write on the bathtub walls, if you can write on
the walls with this wouldn't it work on paper or clothes and then wash
out? It sounded logical to me, but then again it is the end of the
day!!

719.5 | Teaching supply stores in Manchester and Nashua | HDLITE::FLEURY | | Tue Feb 26 1991 07:28 | 9 |

I checked with my wife and she said...
There is a teacher's store in Manchester NH whic h carries all types of
supplies. She found it by looking in the yellow pages under Teaching
supplies (makes sense no?) She also thinks that there is one in Nashua
as well.

719.6 | The Teach & Learn Shop | LILAC::STHILAIRE | | Tue Feb 26 1991 10:16 | 6 |
| The place you're referring to in Manchester could be the Teach and
Learn Shop which is located at 474 South Main Street. We live close
by and have been there a number of times, however I've never
specifically looked for paint. Their number is (603) 627-3697.

719.7 | Teach and Learn has it! | FROSTY::JANEB | See it happen => Make it happen | Wed Feb 27 1991 12:07 | 10 |
| Thanks for the info and offers! I called Teach and Learn in Manchester
and they have Crayola Washable paint for $3.95 for 16 oz.
They said that only Crayola labels their paint "washable", which matches
what I've seen (outside of catalogs). I'm surprised that more paints
aren't made that way!
Thanks again,
Jane

719.8 | correction of location, in case somebody looked | CSSE32::RANDALL | waiting for spring | Thu Mar 07 1991 09:17 | 7 |
| re: .2, I think it was -- the Ben Franklin crafts store is on
101a, but it's in the Lorden Plaza in Milford, not the K-Mart
Plaza in Nashua. That's about 5 miles farther away from the
Everett Turnpike. K-Mart itself might be a good place to check
for art supplies, as well.

719.9 | LeeJay in Vernon CT. | NRADM::TRIPPL | | Mon Mar 11 1991 10:08 | 20 |
| While out shopping yesterday, call it bargain hunting,my mission was to
go to JC Penny's Catalog outlet in Manchester CT (that's about a half
hour south of Sturbridge Villiage). Penny's is in itself a fabulous
place for anything imaginable, I picked up a gown for $20. the current
season dresses averaged $12-24., but that's another story. On the way
down I84 there's a chain of craft/papergoods stores called LeeJay, if
there's a craft, party, candy or cakemaking supply in the world I swear
this place just has to have it!
Somewhere in the back of my fuzzy brain I seem to remember seeing a
catalog for these people. It may be worth a phone call to see if one
is in fact published. I found the prices quite reasonable, and
seasonal things are stocked year round.
Again it's LeeJay and the one I stopped in was at Vernon, CT. It's at
the Vernon Center exit off I-84.
