| I had asked about the double strollers a whiel back (see note 432) and
I decided to not get one; namely because my oldest will be a little too
old and head strong to justify the cost of it for the number of times
that we would use it. I'm just hoping to only have one child with me
when a stroller is needed (there is no way I'm taking 2 kids to the
mall unless it is only to get one thing and not do major shopping).
All the other times, both my hubby and I should be there.
I liked the idea of clasping 2 umbrella strollers together but I won't
put an infant in an umbrella stroller and by the time she's old enough,
my first will definitely be completely out of a stroller. Plus, we've
got a top-of-the-line Aprica I intend to get my money's worth out of
with number 2!!!
Congrats on #2!

| My two nephews have the same age split as your children will. Brian
was 3 years, 2 1/2 months when Neil was born (on June 4th). My sister
didn't buy a double stroller because Brian had pretty much lost
interest in riding anyway. As far as the bottles go, she used the same
bottles but bought different nipples. She had throw away the old ones
when Brian stopped using them -- I guess she figured they wouldn't
last.
Neil wore the terry cloth sleepers for the first month or so, then when
it started getting warm at the beginning of July, he started wearing
the little summer outfits. He did have a sweater with a hood for
evenings and trips to air conditioned places.
I don't think there was too much extra that we had to get for Neil. My
sister did make new bumper pads for the crib, partly because of color
but mostly because Brian's were getting worn out. And we did get an
infant car seat because Brian still uses his toddler one. Now the
problem is that Neil is outgrowing the infant seat, but Brian still
often sleeps in the car so we don't want to move him out of his seat
into one of the booster type seats where he won't be able to lean
against the side. It may be that a second full sized toddler seat will
be necessary.
Have fun getting ready for #2!

I ended up getting a double stroller, tandem, but mine were only 22
months apart. I still use it alot, Tanner is 4 months old now. I take
them to the mall all the time together and its not bad at all. In
fact, Spencer likes sitting in the double stroller because its
something new.
As far as bottles, I just replaced the nipples, and washed the bottles
again before using them - they're fine.
For a 'coming home' outfit, Tanner wore the same one that Spencer did.
I thought it was nice that they both came home in the same outfit.
What I told my mom was that when they baby was born, her gift would be
the coming home outfit, so maybe you can ask someone close to get that
for you?
I would definatly have a sweater or 2 on hand for the baby. I was able
to use alot of Spencers clothes. They were in such good shape, when
they are that little they outgrow them before they ruin them. Even tho
I had 2 boys, there were alot of clothes that a girl could have worn.
As far as carseats, we had to get another infant seat because Peter
picks the kids up at daycare and I didn't feel like taking one in and
out of the car everyday, so we picked up a used on at Childrens Orchird
(westboro, nashua), they sell used equipment in good shape for a
reasonable price.
Good luck
