| I was a member of RESOLVE but didn't pay the dues last time around
because we had adopted and doing fertility drugs and being a first-time
mother didn't fit very well. I right off with them ordered all their
background notes re my conditions. I found those very useful as I
became, as all who suffer infertility seem to do, a pseudo-reproductive
endocrinologist. You can amaze your friends! Dazzle them completely
as you speak knowledgeably of sperm counts and progesterone balances at
every stage of the cycle. I'd definitely recommend ordering these
notes as a new member.
I was a member of a support group but it wasn't RESOLVE sponsored
because I'm in WEstern Mass. I too found it phenomenally helpful.
Just to cry with others. And also to learn, although sometimes the
oldtimers felt like they were teaching the neophytes.
It seems like most of RESOLVE activities are in Boston area, vs. other
places, although there is an active group in HArtford. Their
newsletters were always something to look forward to. They made
adoption seem like a natural alternative, by announcing member's family
additions, in addition to the biological children. They provided some
humor, which is usually sorely needed. They also provided up to the
moment medical status on some issues, like Lupron and so forth. I
think anyone starting the infertility treatment road should join.
Trouble is, you don't know you're infertile for quite a while. I wish
doctors would recommend RESOLVE when you first say you're trying to
have a baby. If one was lucky and conceived and carried straight away,
you'd have helped support an organization supporting those who
couldn't. And if not, you'd be getting information from the beginning,
and avoiding the runaround too often given.

| There is a RESOLVE chapter in Colorado Springs. There was an article in
the Gazette-Telegraph this week about infertility, and they talked about
RESOLVE. I don't remember the phone number, but if anyone needs to know
where they can get it (and they don't have the Gazette handy) you can send
me mail at CSC32::DUBOIS and I'll tell you where I saw a pamphlet that had
the number, or may be able to get you the number.

| Pat and I were active in RESOLVE till we adopted Michael. We went through
three IVF attempts, and RESOLVE was an absolutely wonderful source of
information for us, as well as providing needed support during a very
difficult time for both of us. It's a great organization.

| We have been members of RESOLVE for a while. They have been a good
source of info for us. THey even have a contact file of members who are
looking for people with the same sorts of problems. My wife met a nice
woman in our town who has the same problems we do. They have gotten
together a few times and have had a great time.
The booklets also are great. The info they give you is clear, concise
and has been a help. The thing I find now is that when I see a
few women at work talking about "baby stuff", I jump right in and in
some cases know more than they do! They can't figure me out.
If anyone needs the resolve address, I have it at home. Drop me a
vaxmail and I'll send it to you.

There is a "Open Discussion on Infertility" being held at
Resevoir Place in Waltham, MA on Wednesday, October 24, from
7:30 to 9:30. RESOLVE is hosting it and it is free.
Resevoir Place is on the western side of the Trapelo Rd
exit off of RT. 128.
This information was found in the Thursday, October 18th
edition of the Maynard Beacon. No phone number was listed.
I am currently undergoing tests for infertility. This will be
my first association with RESOLVE. I am looking forward to it
and I am optimistic, from reading this notes file, that I will
gain lots of information.
