Hi sorry I haven't introduced my self But I have a problem and time wont permit a long introduction. My cousin!! he is 14 years old and has been recently taken out of his mothers house by DSS and placed with another family member. He is a good kid he is just at that stage where "I know everything and You know nothing" and feels that things are "owed" to him He has run away 3 times in the past 2 months, has started to tell some pretty loooong tales and has succeeded in getting everyone including the school and DSS to believe that he is a "child in danger". He hates his mothers boyfriend and isn't too fond of his mother right now. The arrangement with the family member who has custody right now is temporary and we would like to look into some group homes almost like a "teenage boot camp"? if you may have any ideas or info on such places please reply here. Thanx in advance Tree

I think you are looking for an Outward Bound program. DSS ought to know. If that fails, call Boston City Hall and get the Mayor's Office. I can't imagine that they can't help. Some friends of mine went through a pretty rocky period with their son. He did outward bound..no miracles but it helped. I nearly fainted when I found out he'd settled down and gotten a job in day care. Turns out he was great with 4 year olds...just had a lot of stuff to work out first. |
